THE harrowing last moments of passengers on the Costa Concordia were told to an Italian judge in a bid to bring Francesco Schettino to trial.

A document submitted by prosecutors revealed how 32 people died after the cruise liner hit into rocks off the coast of Tuscany last January.


The former captain is facing charges of manslaughter, causing a disaster and abandoning ship after the vessel tragically capsized.




The youngest victim was five-year-old Dayana Arlotti who drowned after she was turned away from a lifeboat due to insufficient room.


The pair had been directed by crew members to go to the starboard side of the ship to find another lifeboat when the ship rolled over and they died.


While 25-year-old waitress Erika Fani Soria Molina died after she had given her life jacket to an elderly man and then fell out of a life raft.
