Enough wine to fill 220,000 bottles masquerading as premium Italian reds inlcuding Brunello di Montalcino was about to go on marketItalian police have seized 160,000 litres of cheap wine which was about to be passed off as prized reds such as Tuscany’s Brunello di Montalcino, in the latest of a series of scandals to hit the country’s premium wine sector.The wine, which would have filled 220,000 bottles, could have sold for as much as €5 million (£4 million).
